Medical Journal Declares That Parents Should Lose Their Authority to Object to Transgender Surgery for Children

A major medical journal in the United States is facing widespread criticism after it published an article declaring that parents should lose their “veto power” to object to their children trying to seek gender-altering surgical procedures, Breitbart reports.

The Journal of Medical Ethics published an article titled “LGBT testimony and the limits of trust,” authored by Dr. Maura Priest, a professor of philosophy and bioethics at Arizona State University (ASU). In the article, Priest claims that “it is no longer the job of physicians to do their own weighing of the costs and benefits of transition-related care,” as “only the patient can make this assessment, because only the patient has access to the true weight of transition-related benefits.”

Furthermore, Priest declares that “taking LGBT patient testimony seriously also means that parents should lose veto power over most transition-related pediatric care.” Priest had expanded on this assertion in a pre-publication draft, where she said that “guardian veto power over identity-affirming care [results] in injustice whenever such power means one trans child is denied the care that another receives.”

The article was called out for its authoritarian overtones by numerous commentators on social media. Daily Wire host Elisha Krauss said that “if you want to change my child mentally, hormonally, and physically, you’re going to have to go through me.” Author Tom Quiggin declared that “they are out to get your children,” while commentator Derek Hunter said that “leftists want everyone to be wards of the state.”

The mainstreaming of the idea of “transgenderism” – the false notion that anyone can suddenly change their gender whenever they feel like it, as well as the debunked idea that there are more than two genders – has led to the Left promoting greater sexual autonomy among minors. At a town hall event in October last year before the election, then-candidate Joe Biden responded to an audience member’s question by affirming his belief that children as young as eight years old should be allowed to undergo gender-altering surgeries.

There have been numerous instances of parents attempting to object to their children seeking gender-altering procedures, having been indoctrinated by schools and other institutions, and being shut down by the powers of the state. Since Biden took power, numerous states have pushed back on some elements of the transgender agenda, including numerous bills – some passed into law – to ban so-called “transgender” athletes from competing in sports on teams of the opposite gender.

I recently read a statement about a Cardiologist group in Springfield, Ma that was promoting woke. I tried to email them stating that their views are dangerous. I asked them if they believed this would that mean that anyone who does not agree with them would be in danger? That’s what it sounded like. I told them I was offended. They refused my email. This is very dangerous thinking for doctors to be promoting. The medical practices need to stay out of politics!

I am american I am a survivor of slavery and false narratives. When I was 6 I started screaming for help nobody listened when I was 12 I started running away and I got punished for it not my abusers. When I was 17 years old I got a letter from the court stating that they finally found out I was telling the truth but due to my age I was to old to help they apologized for failing me and sent me back to my owners where I was sold within hours. When I was 19 finally escaped they again stepped in I was homeless disabled and pregnant they told me take ssi or lose my child so I did and I lost my rights for surviving slavery and their failure for the amount of less than $600 cash now I’m 35 and I make under $800 that’s my restitution. So no the government can’t fail me and my siblings and then my children. Today I sit here watching my former owners running around trying the convince others that our lives are worthless and we somehow victimize them by merely existing they get celebrated while my abuse has only become the social norm. So no the government can’t say what’s best for my children or anyone else’s. They fight for pedophiles over children. They fight for supremacists and blame the victims. They fight for our destruction not our future our leaders aren’t even qualified to certify a banana. When my sister died from aids the government announced it was no longer a crime to give it to someone because it’s not deadly if you can afford the medicine she was on ssi to they cut her check and medicaid quit covering her meds so she died and she was buried in a paupers grave an unknown victim of pimp culture and the modern day acceptable forms of supremacy, sexism, racism and oppression. You’ll hear more stories like ours when people wake up and our oppressors get knocked off their privileged pedestals but for now it’s the highest profits ever made in history on slavery and nobody has noticed because they’re still stuck in the indoctrination zone.

What a crock. The medical world has been a political playground for decades. This is only the latest of its outlandish proclamations.

We have only two sexual taboos left in America, Pedophilia and Bestiality.
Allowing underage children the “right” to choose their “sexuality” and removing the parental authority to protect those children from charlatans is a good long leap into removing the barriers to that first taboo.

A child’s brain is not developed enough to weigh the effects of that kind of decision. Apparently , all these predators and perverts , and people who harbor utter contempt for the innocence of childhood think we do not know better. Or maybe it’s because they’ve ruined their lives , so they want to see other people ruin their lives.
